FAQ — Elite Easy Movers

The answers Toledo-area families ask us for most.

The things people want settled first

A move kicks up a stack of questions, and we would far rather answer them up front than have you wondering on the day itself. Gathered here are the points Toledo households bring up most, from how we assemble a flat rate to what happens when a lake-effect squall blows in. Yours not listed? Send it to [email protected] and a real person, usually Ray, will reply.

Walk me through how a quote gets built.
Three inputs drive the math: how big your home is, how easy the doors are to reach on each end, and the distance in between. Hand us the bedroom count, flag the stairs, and give us the two ZIP codes, and one number lands back in your inbox in writing. It does not move on move day unless you add items or services after the fact.
What's the real price tag on a move across town?
Billed by the hour, it is $125 for two movers with the truck, pads, and dollies included, against a two-hour minimum. Want one set figure instead? A studio or one-bedroom starts at $349, a two-bedroom runs about $559, a three-bedroom is roughly $819, and four bedrooms or more comes in near $1,199. Any job leaving town begins at $2,050.
Will you ask for money up front?
Only $95 to hold your date on the calendar, and that amount is knocked off your final bill. There is nothing more to pay ahead of time. The rest is due once we have finished the job.
How do coverage and valuation actually work?
Every move includes released-value protection at no cost, set to the federal minimum of sixty cents per pound. Want firmer protection? Full-value coverage generally runs one to three percent of the value you declare. On top of that, the company carries its own $1,000,000 cargo policy.
Are some items just off-limits for your trucks?
Both the law and basic sense keep hazardous material off the truck, so no propane tanks, gasoline, fireworks, or pressurized cans, and we ask that you carry your plants, anything that spoils, and your important documents yourself. Unsure where some odd object lands? Ask us ahead of time and we will tell you straight.
Can your crew deal with stairs and basements?
Without a doubt. A large share of Toledo's homes are old, with steep cellar steps and third-floor walk-ups, and that is precisely the kind of work the crew rehearses for. Point out the staircases, the basement, and any tight Old West End doorways when you book, and we will bring the right straps and enough hands.
What if a snowstorm lands on my move date?
Squalls and ice off Lake Erie are a normal part of a Toledo winter, so we plan around them from the start. We watch the radar, shovel and salt a clear path at both doors, and roll out floor runners. If the roads turn truly unsafe, we call you the night before and shift the date at no charge, since nothing is worth risking your belongings or the crew.
Do you handle moves out of state?
We do, on our USDOT and MC authority, with regular runs to Detroit, Cleveland, Columbus, Chicago, Indianapolis, and Pittsburgh. The same crew that packs the truck at your current home also drives it and unloads it at the new one, all on a single locked flat rate that opens at $2,050.
Is storage an option if my dates don't line up?
Yes. When a closing slips or a lease begins early, we can hold your things short-term in a secure, climate-conscious space. Bring it up at booking and the storage stretch rolls into your flat rate, with everything tracked on one inventory sheet.
Should I be tipping the movers?
Tipping is never expected and is never tucked into your price. If the crew gives you a careful, smooth day and you want to add something, 10 to 15 percent is a common range. The call is entirely yours.
My property manager wants proof of insurance on file. Can you handle that?
Yes. A good many downtown lofts and managed buildings around Toledo will not let a truck dock until a COI is sitting on file. Send us your building's exact requirements at booking and we will have the certificate issued and delivered to your property manager well ahead of time.
How early do I need to lock in a date?
A week or two of lead time is plenty for a local job, and a small one can often slot in sooner. The final weekend of every month and the whole summer run packed, so grab your spot early if the date is fixed. For out-of-state moves, aim for two to three weeks out.
